Definition
A type of artificial intelligence model trained on massive amounts of text data that can understand and generate human-like text. LLMs use transformer architecture and are the technology behind ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and similar tools.

A computer program that has read billions of pages of text and learned to write and understand language like a human. When you chat with ChatGPT or Claude, you are talking to an LLM.
